Ready. Aim. Fire.

Ready. Aim. Fire.

Many people have goals. Often times though, there’s a disconnect between the end destination, and your current situation. How to get there. People flounder for years in inactivity and procrastination simply because they don’t have a formula to achieve what they want. In terms of fitness goals, this couldn’t be more true. Here’s a simple, straight forward approach that I use with goal setting.

Ready. Aim. Fire.

Ready – Ready mentally for the journey and process?

This is a must. When training for a physique show, it takes an extreme amount of dedication and preparation. It takes a huge time investment, and a commitment to turn down lots of things and opportunities to focus on all the things necessary to prepare. Before beginning, it’s essential for me to get myself to a place mentally where I’m 100% ready for that commitment. Whatever it takes to shift your mind to that place, you must do it.

Aim – Formulate your gameplan for success.

“The separation is in the preparation.” – Russell Wilson

This is about utilizing all of your resources, and exhausting every conceivable angle, to put together your best plan of action to be successful.

Fire – Execute.

Once you’re ready mentally for the journey upcoming, and you’ve got your best game plan set, all you have to do is follow through. Execute the plan. Step by step, one day at a time, trust it.

Give this simple formula a shot with whatever you want to accomplish this year!

  1. Great post on the mentality one must have in order to prep for a show. I’ve been toying with the idea for a little over a year to compete. It is a real commitment that I hope to make in the next year or two. Happy Training.
